YOUR IMPACT

Do you have a passion for invention and self-challenge? As part of our Battery Engineering group, help craft creative battery solutions that use a unique zinc sponge anode that makes a safer, high-performance battery. We work across subject areas to transform improved hardware elements into a single, integrated design. In this role you will have the opportunity to utilize your skills as a lab technician and apply them to next our generation zinc battery development for Enzinc, pushing the boundaries of battery innovation!

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

This is role is for entry level or candidates with up to 1-2 years of experience. There will be significant opportunities for learning on the job.

  • Have a previous track record of success conducting tests - should also be able to process and summarize data
  • Possess a high level of attention to detail with the handling of samples and test data
  • Be able to follow documented procedures and give feedback on existing or missing procedures
  • Have good communication skills in order to report issues clearly and effectively
  • Experience in wiring and soldering and with electrical and mechanical lab measurement equipment (measurement gauges, volt, and impedance meters, as well as automated test equipment, etc.)
    is desirable but not essential
  • Experience working with torque wrenches and thickness gauges preferred
  • Experience with battery cycle life testing using Neware or Arbin testers or in handling and assembly of test cells and batteries is a plus
  • Willingness to work alternative shifts (swing, weekend-day) is preferred
  • Must be able to work in a repetitive environment
  • Safety training in previous jobs preferred

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with mixing chemicals to make emulsions, install into molds, and operate a furnace
  • Prepare cell components (i.e., electrodes, separators, current collectors, etc.) for test
  • Assemble test cells and batteries into carriers for testing using basic hand tools with both hands, place loaded fixtures into semi-automated test stations
  • Perform mechanical and electrical measurements on devices according to standard operating procedures
  • Communicate issues observed in samples, processes or documentation to the supervisor
  • Enter data into the test recording system as needed
  • Adhere to safety protocol and lab guidelines
  • Support failure analysis efforts, as guided by engineers
  • Job duties may require additional work like assisting in organizing of inventory

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Associates degree or bachelor's degree in engineering or applied sciences, entry level or with up to with 1-2 years of lab testing experience
