Job Title: Manufacturing Technician

Location: This is a 100% on-site role that will be based primarily in Oakland, California.  Some work (up to 40% in some weeks) may be in Richmond, CA location.

Position Type: Full-Time, hourly, variable shift schedule based on business needs

Experience Level: Entry to Mid-Level

Education / Experience: Technical degree or 5+ years work experience in a manufacturing setting or quality control laboratory.

Job Description: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented ManufacturingTechnician to join our team in Enzinc’s pilot Manufacturing Tech Center (MTC). The ideal candidate will have a technical degree or 5+ years of work experience in a manufacturing setting or quality control lab.  As a manufacturing technician, you will help prove develop and validate manufacturing methods. 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily activities to support manufacturing operations at the Manufacturing Tech Center, including but not limited to:
    • Prepare anode slurries and operate equipment to prep plates
    • Document experiment and production information in Data Management System
    • Start-up, operate, troubleshoot and support routine maintenance of operating equipment (pumps, furnaces, conveyors, compressors)
    • Complete quality characterization of products using various quality control analytical methods
    • Mechanical, manual assembly of anodes and current collectors
  • Work alongside engineers to develop processes and procedures for improving quality, reliability and productivity.
  • Create and improve Standard Operating Procedures for equipment and processes at the Manufacturing Tech Center.
  • Help build and support the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) programs of the MTC.
  • Contribute to the documentation and development of technician training programs to support Enzinc’s manufacturing team growth.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support ongoing manufacturing development projects.
  • Assist in the ordering and management of laboratory supplies and chemicals.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to discussions on experimental design and results.

Qualifications:

  • Previous manufacturing or laboratory experience through coursework, internships, or entry-level positions is required.
  • Must be comfortable working with chemicals and PPE.
  • Familiarity with laboratory techniques, instrumentation, and basic analytical methods.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow experimental procedures precisely.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and analysis.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic pilot line environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field is a plus.
